Cabinet Minister Atul Bora inuagurates International Buyer Seller Meets for agricultural & processed food products in Guwahati

Guwahati, March 10: The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, today held  the International Buyer Seller Meet for agricultural & processed food products in Guwahati. It was a great platform to exchange ideas on enhancing Assam’s agri export capabilities. On the occasion, Atul Bora Minister of  Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Border Area Development, Implementation of Assam Accord, Cooperation inaugurates an exhibition showcasing various agri products.

An MoU between APEDA & AAU for capacity building of exporters, farmers & FPOs was also signed.

Buyers from different parts of India & foreign nations like UAE, Netherlands, Oman, Bangladesh, Greece, etc. and exporters of Assam participated at the meet.

Speaking on the occasion, Atul Bora highlighted about Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s special focus on development of Assam & NE and various steps initiated by the State Govt led by dynamic Hon’ble CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in this regard & to make Assam a top 5 state in India.

Assam & NE region has geographic advantage for trans-border trade with neighbouring nations.

Atul Bora urged the global importers to take advantage of various export oriented policies of our Govt. We will render all possible support in this regard.
