Interaction of the BTR Development Fellows with Advancing North East Initiative of the North Eastern Council (NEC) & NEDFi

AZIR KHOBOR, 11TH JULY, 2022 : On the 3rd Day of Induction and Orientation Programme for the Bodoland Teritorial Region (BTR) Development Fellows and Specialists under the BTR Development Fellowship Programme, the fellows interacted with the project team of the Advancing North East initiative of North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of DoNER, Govt of India which is implemented by the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi). Advancing Northeast is a one-stop solution web portal in the field of education, employment and entrepreneurship with content curated for the youth of North East. Available at the domain www.advancingnortheast.in, the portal aims to make mentoring services available for each and every youth of North East India.

During the interaction event that happened on 8th July, 2022, Shri Prithviraj Neog, Team Leader, Advancing North East Project explained how the portal can act as resource centre for the fellows who will be working for overall development of the BTR region under the close coordination with the BTR Council and its line department in ranges of areas such as agriculture, skill development, healthcare, natural resource management, education, gender and governance. The team further appealed the fellows and other stakeholder organizations to create awarness about this initiative and also expressed their commitment for worlking closely with the BTR Fellowship Programme in the cominng days.

On the same day, the Advisory & Consultancy Team led by Shri Manoj Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager kick-started the study on “Resource Mapping of the BTR Districts and Sector Specific Road Map” in consultation with Shri Naren Chandra Basumatary, ACS, Secretary, BTR at Assembly Building of BTR. During the year 2007, NEDFi undertook a resource mapping study for the BTR which will act as baseline for the upcoming study.
