Breaking: 233 passengers died, 900 injured after Train collide Odisha

Several teams of NDRF, and ODRAF are on the spot for the search and rescue operation

Odisha, June 02,2023: In an tragic incident on  Friday evening atleast 233 passengers have lost their lives and over 900 are severely injured after two passenger trains and one goods train collided with each other near Bahanaga railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district. Several teams of NDRF, and ODRAF are on the spot for the search and rescue operation.

Several ambulances are also on spot to handle the situation. Several coaches are reported to have derailed on Friday evening, informed CPRO Southern Railway. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik will visit Balasore on Saturday morning to take stock of the ground situation after two passenger trains collided with a goods train leaving several injured. several passengers are feared to be trapped inside the overturned coaches of the superfast train. The second train involved in the accident was the Bengaluru-Howrah superfast express.

A goods train was also involved in the accident, as per Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena.
