In a move that reflects his dedication to the nation, Akshay has officially become an Indian citizen, relinquishing his previous Canadian nationality. This decision was announced by Akshay on the 76th Independence Day through his social media platforms.

When did he applied for Indian citizenship:

Akshay had initiated the process of acquiring an Indian passport. However, unforeseen delays, including those caused by the pandemic, had impeded his progress.

Akshay Kumar Poudly unveiled his certificate of registration, a testament to his unwavering commitment to India. The Ministry of Home Affairs was responsible for issuing this certificate, marking a poignant moment in Akshay’s journey. Alongside the snapshot of his certificate, Akshay conveyed his emotions, stating, “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Earlier he was holding Canadian citizenship since 2011 due to his instable career he opted for abroad.
