At least 69 people were killed and several others sustained injuries in Nepal on Friday after a strong earthquake struck the western area of Jajarkot, as reported by the news agency Reuters. In a post on X, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed deep sorrow at the loss of life in the earthquake and ordered security agencies to launch rescue and relief operations.
The earthquake’s impact was felt as far as India’s capital, New Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), over 800 kilometers (500 miles) away.
