President Bestows National Energy Conservation Award To Guwahati Refinery
GUWAHATI: Guwahati Refinery has been conferred with the National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2023 for its exemplary efforts in energy conservation. In a prestigious ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on December 14, 2023, President of India Droupadi Murmu bestowed the National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2023 on SM Vaidya, Chairman, Indian Oil. Guwahati Refinery clinched the coveted first prize in the petroleum refining sector.
The honour recognizes IndianOil’s Guwahati Refinery for making improvements in specific energy consumption, undertaking sustainable practices, achieving energy savings in both electrical and thermal, as well as for innovative Energy Conservation (ENCON) and NetZero initiatives.
The occasion witnessed the presence of RK Singh, Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy; Krishan Pal, Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries; and Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India. The award ceremony was attended by Ms. Sukla Mistry, Director (Refineries), Indian Oil, and Mr. GK Goyari, Chief General Manager and Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery.
