SEBI Chairperson introduces CDSL’s multi-lingual initiatives to enhance investor ease of doing business
Guwahati: Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), Asia’s first listed depository, has launched two multi-lingual initiatives to celebrate its silver jubilee and emphasize inclusivity and accessibility in the capital market.
These initiatives were launched by SEBI Chairperson Smt. Madhabi Puri Buch at the silver jubilee function held on 17 January 2024.
Speaking on the silver jubilee event,Shri Nehal Vora, MD & CEO said, “As we celebrate 25 years of our incredible journey, it is our distinct honour to witness the SEBI Chairperson launch CDSL’s pivotal initiatives.
CDSL has introduced a multi-lingual CAS, allowing investors to receive their statements in their preferred language among 23 Indian languages. This ‘Apka CAS – Apki Zubaani’ initiative simplifies accessibility for investors. Additionally, a unique multi-lingual chatbot, ‘CDSL Buddy Sahayta 24*7′, is available on the CDSL website to break communication barriers and provide round-the-clock assistance to investors. The chatbot aims to simplify investors’ journeys towards self-sufficiency in the securities markets In a research titled “Reimagine Digital Trust in Capital Markets,” CDSL emphasizes the significance of digital trust and the interconnection of the world’s financial systems. The paper underscores the significance of comprehending these elements, produced in association with KPMG. In order to promote financial literacy throughout 25 cities, CDSL has started the “Neev” campaign, a 25-city Pan-India Financial Literacy Campaign.
