J & K New CM : Omar Abdullah along with Cabinet ministers take oath as Jammu and Kashmir New govt |

 

Omar Abdullah on Wednesday sworn in as Jammu and Kashmir’s new Chief Minister. In the recently concluded assembly elections, Omar contested two seats Ganderbal and Budgam and won both.

Among five Cabinet ministers, Satish Sharma is the only non-NC face, He defeated BJP candidate Rajeev Sharma with a margin of 6,929 votes in the Chhamb assembly seat. After his victory, he extended support to NC.

 

Congress leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi attended the swearing-in ceremony at SKICC, Srinagar.

LG Manoj Sinha administered oath of office and secrecy to CM Omar Abdullah at an event at SKICC, Srinagar. Along with him five Cabinet ministers also took oath.

PDP chief and former J-K CM Mehbooba Mufti also attended the swearing-in ceremony. During the event, she met with NC Chief Farooq Abdullah. Both leaders shook hands. Mufti later told the media that it was an important day as they got their govt after several years.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also arrived in Srinagar to witness the oath-taking ceremony of new J-K CM Omar Abdullah. After the event, he said that it was an important day as the UT needed a new government.
