New Delhi: Dr.Dibyajyoti Saikia, an internationally renowned And National Human Rights & Social Activist from Assam, he was honored with the *SHAURYA SAMMAN* Award for his exceptional contributions to the nation. The award was presented at the Constiution Club of India in Delhi on 1st march.Where Padmabhushan Hukumdev Narayan Yadav was chief guest. Additionally, Activist Dr. Saikia was conferred the *International Humanitarian Excellence Award and Delhi Ratna Award*
by Mahatma Gandhi International University
and the International Human Rights Ambassador Organization(UK indian wing)at the International India Center on same day night.
For over 25 years, Activist Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia has been at the forefront of combating superstition in Assam and Nationally. His relentless efforts have led to the rescue and dignified rehabilitation of 250 of individuals subjected to torture in the name of witch. His pioneering work played a significant role in the enactment of the Assam Witch Hunting (Prohibition, Prevention, and Protection) Act, 2015 by the Assam government.
Dr. Saikia, a former national member of Team Anna’s National Core Comittee,has also been instrumental in combating drug addiction. Through his initiatives he has successfully rehabilitated more then hundreds of youths across various district of Assam specially tinsukia. Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia has been honoured with over 165 National & Internal award & he covered by many international media houses like Time Magzine ,Aljazeera,USA Today,Global Post, US insider and manymore•
