Assam Principal Accountant General K.S.Gopinath Narayan visits Dima Hasao Council.

AZIR KHOBOR, Haflong, 2nd October 2021: Principal Accountant General (Audit) of Assam K.S.Gopinath Narayan, IA & AS during his maiden visit to Dima Hasao for discussion with the accounts related matters of the council and all the entrusted departments held a meeting with both the Principal Secretaries Mukut Kemprai and Thai Tso Daulagupu, ACS ( i/c PS), Senior FAO and accounts officers.

The main objective of the meeting of PAG was to discuss about the steps and procedures to be taken for maintenance of the accounting matters of the entrusted Deptts. and the Council Finance deptt for the Council normal Sector funds in a more transparent manner. Encouraging them to adopt modern technology like introduction of application, providing special computer applications training to the accounting personnel of the NCHAC, such steps will help in order to have an error free maintenance of accounts. Since, the Council authority is accountable for the Govt. funds received through the Hills Area Development Deptt.(HAD) maitenance of accounts correctly and reporting to the Accounts General is to be very responsibly done on time said the Principal Accounts General.

After the meeting at the Circuit House, K. S. Gopinath Narayan also visited the council finance department and took stock of earning of Council’s normal sector revenue with its sources with volume and its utilization, procedures maintained about the fund receipt and utilization of various Grants in aid followed by its proper maintenance of accounts. He also verified relevant documents of the Finance Deptts., NCHAC and assured to provide guidance if required so that, the accounts maintenance of NCHAC becomes an example to other Autonomous Councils.

PAG also took stock of the total employees figures under normal sector and their salary structure and suggested if their CPF could be converted to NPS. He also made a field visit at few of the ongoing schemes sites as a part of his programme.
