MoU signed between ASSTC,Government of Assam and Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
Dispur, May 4 : A Memorandum of Understanding was signed ceremonially between Assam Survey and Settlement Training Centre, Government of Assam ( ASSTC ) and Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati ( IITG ) in presence of Jogen Mohan, Minister, Revenue and Disaster Management at the office of ASSTC, Rajahnagar, Dakhingaon today.
ASSTC and IITG have agreed to collaborate and support each other to promote training of ASSTC officers in conducting courses related to drone operation, training, maintenance, data collection, application in various sectors, theory classes on modern land management and Research and Project by leveraging their respective expertise in this area.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jogen Mohan said that this is a historic day as this collaboration will definitely help in bringing significant changes in the field of modern land management & capacity building of our officers and field functionaries.
Prof. T.G Sitharaman, Director of IITG in his remarks mentioned that it is indeed a historic step to integrate knowledge-based technological advancement as part of the training curriculum for state officials which will improve the overall data collection and processing of land records and other areas.
Shantanu Gotmare, Director of Land Records & Surveys etc, Assam, Prof. Parameswar K Iyer, Dean, PRBR, IITG and Pankaj Chakravarty Principal ASSTC were among the other notable dignitaries present during the occasion.
