INDIAN ARMY LAUNCHED FLOOD RELIEF OPERATIONS IN BALICHARA AND BORKHOLA IN CACHAR DISTRICT OF ASSAM

AZIR KHOBOR, CACHAR, 16TH MAY : On receipt of request from civil administration, troops of Spear Corps in Masimpur including Assam Rifles launched a joint flood rescue operations in general area of Balichara & Borkhola in Cachar District of Assam on 14 May 22.

Swift & coordinated actions were carried out to rescue precious lives caught in the areas inundated by River Jatinga with priority given to women, the elderly, infirm & young children. The timely and swift action resulted in many lives being saved and a major disaster being averted. Rescue efforts are ongoing with the locals appreciating the yeoman service.
