Guwahati Refinery extends CSR support to Akshaya Patra Foundation for sponsoring Mid Day meal to students of Govt. Schools
In its efforts to contribute towards eradicating classroom hunger and malnutrition, Guwahati Refinery recently extended its CSR support to Akshaya Patra Foundation, a not-for-profit organization which strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman i.e PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal Scheme). As part of it, the Refinery has provided financial support to the Foundation for procuring 371 nos of customized insulated food carrying vessels required for transporting nutritious and hygienic mid-day meal to the government schools. Along with this, it has also extended its support in terms of sponsoring mid-day meal to around 500 students of seven Govt. schools of both Kamrup (Metro) district and Kamrup district of Assam for a period of one year.
In a program organized at Guwahati office of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Mr. GK Goyari, Chief General Manager & Refinery Head recently handed over the insulated food carrying vessels to Prabhu Vijay Pandit Dasa, Vice President, Akshaya Patra Foundation in presence of Mr. Hitajit Bhattacharyya, CGM(HR) and other officials. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Goyari expressed his happiness on being a part of this collaborative effort which would further contribute towards eradicating malnutrition and support the Right to Education of the children.
Expressing their gratitude to IndianOil, Prabhu Vijay Pandit Dasa, Vice President, Akshaya Patra Foundation thanked GR for the very support which would further encourage them to sustain the effort towards eliminating classroom hunger.
