INDIAN ARMY EMPOWERS VETERANS OF NORTH EAST WITH A WORKSHOP ON SPARSH

AZIR KHOBOR, ASSAM, 21ST JUNE, 2022 : A workshop and interaction was held at almost all major formations of Indian Army across all states of the North East on 21 June 2022. A team of Controller General of Defence Accounts conducted the workshop cum interaction with serving officers, personnel, Ex servicemen, their dependents and Civil Defence Employees on 21 June 2022 at Narangi Military Station, Guwahati where almost 225 serving and retired personnel, dependents and Civil Defence Employees attended it. 13 more military stations and formations joined via video conference. Apart from Jorhat, Tezpur and Rangia in Assam, Shillong in Meghalaya, Dimapur and Zakhama in Nagaland, Aizawl in Mizoram, Agartala in Tripura, Leimakong in Manipur, Tenga in Arunachal also attended the workshop via Video conference. 

 

A large Number of issues related to pension entitlements, anomalies and migration of pension to SPARSH was explained and discussed in detail.

The event has been well appreciated by the Veterans community of North East, being one of its kind. It was attended by more than 1500 serving personnel, Veterans, dependents and Civil Defence Employees across North East. Sub Nath, a Veteran said that migration to SPARSH has created lot of doubts in the minds of all the retirees which were very well explained today. Many other Veterans also echoed similar view and appreciated the conduct of the workshop
